The book was published by Austin Macauley on 31 August 2021 and is available in three formats : – E-B00k at £3.50, Paperback at £!0.99 and Hardback at £12.99. An audio version will follow if sales justify the cost.
It is the first in a four book series, with Senior Pleasures already with Austin Macauley, Seniors Have Fun written and ready for submission, plus Seniors Abroad likely to be completed before the end of 2021.
Senior Singles is the keystone and its’ success should create reader interest for the sequels, which is why I would like a six month campaign starting in October, or sooner, to create sales during the pre and post Xmas period. If it is not successful after six months, further expenditure would not be worthwhile.
THE BOOK is part fact and part fiction because my wife died just after I retired, but it includes no violence, or crime and describes how, after finding himself a senior single, Tom Hartley rebuilds his life and becomes involved with others and the community to make friends, have fun and eventually find love.
He tries Spanish lessons, yoga, singles holidays, crosses America along Route 66 and enters a Hells Angels bar in Chicago, dances with a belly dancer on a Nile cruise and has to escape from a pole dancing club in Thailand. The story has drama, lots of humour and travel experience to make it a light and entertaining read.
ABOUT ME – Having first worked in the coal mines as a mining surveyor, I left to join the R.A.F. for training as an aircrew navigator and after completing my service I joined a large multi-national company in sales and marketing. Eventually I became the managing director of a company subsidiary and with a wide range of experience later became self employed as a business consultant.
WRITING BOOKS – became my hobby after retiring since my work in training, sales and recruitment all required imagination, a good vocabulary and grammar. My first four books were crime thrillers and they are on Amazon as E-Books, but I changed to describing life as a senior to encourage others who may have have lost partners and encourage them to get out of the house and enjoy their remaining years.
